Mary Minerva Sexton and William Crowe

Mary Minerva Sexton was born in 1841 in Ohio to Henry Youmans Sexton and Minerva Peat. Mary Minerva was the half-sister of my great-great-grandmother Jane Ann Sexton Tillotson.

Mary Minerva married William H. Crowe who was born June 3, 1833 in Pennsylvania to Archibald Crowe and his wife Mary. Wiliiam was probably the William Crowe listed as a resident farmer in Elsie in an 1860 business directory in Michigan. The 1860 census shows William age 27 and Mary age 19 as married with no children (and a farmhand named William Dodge).

Mary and William later moved to Crete, Will County, Illinois. They had three children:

Around time Mary died in 1880, William moved his family to West Hammond, Cook County, Illinois. William died on December 12, 1919 in West Hammond (Calumet City), Cook Country, Illinois.

Lindsay Benet Crowe Griffin supplied some of the biographical information. Thomas Tompkins supplied the photos.
